A FINE AND RARE LONGQUAN CELADON ‘GOOSE AND REEDS’ SHALLOW BOWL
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The central medallion depicts a single goose flying amidst reeds, clenching a branch in its beak, encircled by a border of scrolling foliage on the cavetto. The exterior is decorated with two bands of lotus petals radiating upwards from the foot. It is covered inside and out with a glaze of a lustrous bluish-celadon tone.
