Lot Essay

For Rodgers, this Washburn Monterey Custom was ready at hand for wherever inspiration strikes. Said Rodgers: "I bought this...mainly to be a sort of practice a writing guitar if I were to go on a vacation....but you know, what happens is that in the world of guitars, you meet other people that are playing those guitars, and they sound great. So I probably [was] influenced by any one of a number of people because I remember how many times I played, uh, Sting’s [Rock for the Rainforest benefit concernt], and you would come across different guitarists, you know, singer-songwriters, that would play Washburns. So they had a great reputation, you know? For being what they were."
