Lot Essay

Born in 1868 in Yorkshire, England, Bertram Walter Priestman worked in a range of subjects including landscapes, genre, and still life painting. Although Priestman spent the majority of his life in England, he also travelled and worked throughout the central United States. His work can be found in the Royal Academy of Arts in London, where he was elected a member in 1923.
