Lot Essay

With its bookend and icicle inlay, this Pembroke table displays decorative details favored by Rhode Island cabinetmakers working in the Federal style. Most of this design feature legs with banded cuffs and this table is distinguished by the presence of spade feet (for another Pembroke table with similar inlay and spade feet, see The Rhode Island Furniture Archive at The Yale University Art Gallery, RIF3171).
