Lot Essay

The present table epitomises the simplicity and elegance of classic Chinese furniture and may be compared with a slightly smaller huanghuali corner-leg table, 17th century, with humpback stretchers and hoof feet sold at Christie's New York, 17-18 March 2016, lot 1308.
