LEWIS, Wyndham (1882-1957). Timon of Athens. London: Cube Press, 1913.

First edition of Lewis’ first book, a striking Vorticist interpretation of Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens. The sole work published by the Cube Press (most likely a fictitious name chosen by Lewis), it marks the emergence of the Vorticist movement.

Original printed pictorial portfolio wrappers with designs by Lewis printed in black on both covers, brown cloth ties (some reinforcements at joints, wrappers lightly soiled, a few short tears); modern black quarter morocco clamshell box, with morocco gilt label, lettered in gilt to upper cover.
