Limited edition, number 126 of 250 copies signed by George and Ira Gershwin, Dubose Heyward, and Rouben Mamoulian. Gershwin based his opera on DuBose Heyward’s novel Porgy; Heyward wrote the libretto. This limited edition of the piano-vocal score was published in 1935, the year of the Broadway debut, almost simultaneously with the first edition. Prior to directing the show’s Broadway debut, Rouben Mamoulian directed the play version of Heyward’s Porgy.

Quarto (321 x 250 mm). Colour frontispiece and title-page illustrations by George Biddle. Original red hard-grained morocco, black leather label gilt on upper cover, top edge gilt (hinges starting, spine darkened, spine ends and joints rubbed), original raffia-covered slipcase (worn, joints splitting).
