Unveiled at Patek Philippe’s New York Grand Exhibition in 2017, reference 7200/50-011 is a very special and rare timepiece limited to only 75 examples. The timepiece was available for a brief period during the celebrational season in New York, and the watch quickly sold out from its alluring nature.
Measuring 34.5mm, reference 7200/50-011 features an 18k white gold officer-shaped case which is further enhanced by its lovely dark blue/periwinkle Mother-of-Pearl dial with diamond-set hour markers. A closer inspection of the watch reveals deluxe details such as screwed spring bars, an officer-style tang buckle, and most importantly, Patek Philippe Caliber 240 that powers the timepiece.
In addition to the Grand Exhibition 2017, it was the 40th anniversary of the legendary 240 Caliber in which its base was the foundation for many of the most important references like the 3940, World Time collection, 5712 Nautilus, and Sky Moon Tourbillon. The micro-rotor movement allows the watch to wear incredibly thin at a hair over 7mm. This measurement also accounts for the sapphire caseback allowing one to fully view the movement in all of its glory, as well as laying comfortably on the wrist.
