Lot Essay

The necklace is composed of 24 pendants depicting Bes playing the tambourine. For a similar example, see the single pendant in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, dated to the reign of Amenhotep III (1390-1352 B.C.; Inv. no. 11.215.194).
