The present work was gifted to Johanna Aalto, daughter of Aino and Alvar, on the occasion of a visit to Léger's studio during her stay in Paris to view the Aino and Alvar Aalto Exhibition at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, held from April to May of 195.
