A rectangular box with faceted corners, decorated in polychrome lacquer hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and togidashi with cricket resting on cloth-covered biwa (Japanese lute), interior designed with autumn landscape, continuous design to the interiors of divider and box, fitted with silver water dropper; the boarder on cover and rims decorated with rankaku-nuri (egg-shell paint)
