The rectangular box lavishly decorated in gold and silver lacquer takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, kirigane, gold foil and mother-of-pearl inlay on fine nashiji ground, exterior depicts chrysanthemum over fence, interior designed with chrysanthemum with mountain and water landscape, continuous desgin to divider and interior of box, fitted with an ink stone, silver saucer and water dropper in shape of a chrysanthemum blossom, base on fine nashiji ground; with silver rims
