Lot Essay

Introduced in 1976, the steel Nautilus underwent minor changes until the introduction of Reference 5711 in 2006. The new reference was initially available in stainless steel on a bracelet. A year later, precious metal pieces were released on alligator straps such as the present lot.

Reference 5711G-001 features an 18k white gold case with a sapphire case back. The case is crafted in three part construction and is paired with an 18k white gold clasp engraved “Nautilus”. The dial is silvered grey in color and compliments the case construction. Reference 5711G is a unique timepiece suitable for all occasions when understanding its sports watch origins, while presenting in formal style with a precious metal case and leather strap.
