Tignanello, Toscana 1971
In original wooden case. Original tissue. Reconditioned with new slightly scuffed capsule. Slightly bin-soiled label. Level: into-neck
Piero Antinori on the 1971 vintage of Tignanello:
“Tignanello has always had a special place in the heart of me and my family. In those very rare occasions that I taste that first 1971 vintage, it always arouses great emotions in me as I’m still able to recognize its distinguished character that had inspired us back then and that has guided us through the vintages. By questioning conventions of that time, our will was to express the full potential of this extraordinary hill and this specific vineyard, and we knew we had a wine that, in hopes and intentions, could fulfil that desire. As I always like to say, "tradition is a successful innovation". An innovation that works well and that is successful becomes a tradition, and so it was for Tignanello. A milestone in Tuscan winemaking, the wine contributed to the movement known as “The Renaissance” of Italian wine. To have had the chance to contribute to its creation, inception and affirmation over the years, is something that has changed my perspective and that I still cherish these days.”
