A fair copy with minor erasures and emendations, notated for voice and piano on six systems of three staves, on two pages, 327 x 255mm, with the indication 'kräftig u. etwas gemessen', dated at head and foot. Provenance: Stargardt, 4 March 1994, lot 1181.

A song by the 18-year old Hugo Wolf. This is the third of six songs composed by the young Wolf during his summer holidays at Waidhofen. The text is by Hoffmann von Fallersleben.
