A rare small bosun's whistle or call,
with a barrel-shaped "buoy" decorated each side with an applied openwork floral motif, further decorated with applied reeded mouldings and stamped formal decoration below the mouth piece, traces of a mark *, unascribed, probably early 17th century possibly earlier - 4.25cm long.
*This mark is not dissimilar to the mark illustrated in Jackson's Revised pp 95 (fifth line down).
