Of arched form surmounted by a gilt-bronze figure of cupid, flanked by pineapple finials with fluted columns below, the circular porcelain dial painted with a woman holding a child and the panel below with dancing peasants both enriched with gilding and moulded beading, the gilt-bronze shaped rectangular base moulded with a stiff-leaf border and applied with amatory trophies above a rectangular porcelain panel enriched with gilt scrolling foliage, on four feet, the movement by Edward & Sons, Paris, London, Glasgow (chip to edge of dial at 5 o'clock and to lower panel, some losses to beading, slight wear to gilding)
