A PAIR OF WILLIAM IV OAK, STAINED HORN, AND GILTWOOD DISPLAY CABINETS
AFTER THE DESIGN BY HENRY EDMUND GOODRICH, CIRCA 1831
The rectangular ebonised top above a fluted cavetto cornice enriched with curling acanthus leaf clasps, above a further stepped moulded cornice, the frieze decorated with scrolling ogee capitals and rosettes, above a glazed cupboard door opening to a later red velvet-lined interior, flanked by pilasters headed by stepped capitals, the base with rope-twist moulding above a rectangular plinth with egg-and-dart moulding, the base and top apparently remade in 1845 replacing the original Sienna and black marble plinths
50 ¹/₂ in. (128 cm.) high; 32 ³/₄ in. (83 cm.) wide; 16 ¹/₂ in. (42 cm.) deep
