CCCA x Christie’s | 100 Years of Harlem:
Resonating Around the World

Online, 26 March – 4 April

Christie’s is thrilled to host 100 Years of Harlem: Resonating Around the World, a showcase of 30 artworks by artists connected to Harlem and City College Center for the Arts. The exhibition is curated by Omo Misha, and celebrates the centennial of the Harlem Renaissance, a formative time in New York City’s art scene. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the contributing artists with the remainder earmarked for the City College Center for the Arts' Youth Arts Empowerment Program, which each year provides free art workshops, performances and lectures to more than 8,000 underserved youth in the Harlem community.

The mission of The City College Center for the Arts is to provide a creative arts center and focal point for The City College of New York, building a sense of community within the College, elevating the profile of Aaron Davis Hall in the greater New York area, and connecting the College to the surrounding community through the arts.

Please join us virtually for a stimulating discussion centered on the centennial of the Harlem Renaissance and the relationship each artist has with the Harlem community. The conversation will be moderated by the show’s curator, Omo Misha, who is also the curator for Windows on Amsterdam Gallery on behalf of City College Center for the Arts.

About the curator

Meet Omo Misha

Omo Misha means "Misha's children" in Yoruba. It is a name that has come to identify curator, Misha McGlown, and her multi-faceted practice in the arts. Misha currently serves as curator for the Windows on Amsterdam Gallery on behalf of City College Center for the Arts, Director of the Irwin House Global Art Center and Gallery in Detroit, MI, and has remained a member of the Arts & Education staff at Symphony Space since 2003. A resource for a long list of Harlem and Tri-State area artists and cultural institutions, her curatorial practice serves for the expansion of ideas, conversations, careers, and communities through the arts.
