On a shaped circular base, the body chased with scrolling flowers, the three sections with chased inscriptions, with three foliate-formed handles, marked under base, and stamped CLY
9¼ in. high; 78 oz.
The bowl chased with the inscriptions: To The Winner Of The Free For All Pace Inter-City Matinee Sept. 1st 1905; The Gentlemens Driving Club of Chicago; Won By CKG Billings b.g. Morning Star

Lot Essay

The Martelé records indicate that this loving cup was made by David H. Glover in 100 hours and it took chaser William Gray 72 hours to decorate. The total cost was $260.
