A SILVER-MOUNTED HUNTING HANGER with slightly curved hollow-ground blade double-edged towards the point and etched and gilt on both sides with foliage involving stag and boar hunting scenes (rust patinated overall), the hilt comprising short quillons with vertically recurved scroll tips, broad side-ring cast and chased with rococo foliage, embossed and chased lion head pommel, and green-stained chequered bone grip, mid-18th Century, probably French; and a Dutch hunting hanger with straight blade double-edged towards the point and etched at the forte with Latin inscriptions, stars and birds, with, at the base, the inscriptions 'Willem Hendrik Roelvink' and 'Mr Zwaardveger a Amsterdam', brass hilt comprising oval shell cast and chased with a boar hunting scene, knuckle-guard (rear quillon detached), pommel-cap with cherub's mask, and natural staghorn grip, third quarter of the 18th Century
