Engraved frontispiece map by H. Frost, 36 hand-coloured aquatint views after J. and J. Lory. (Map slightly offset onto title, without last 4 leaves of ads.) Recent half-calf, red morocco label titled in gilt.

The first edition in English. The hand-coloured plates illustrate the route from Geneva to Milan, and include views of Geneva, Sion, Brieg, Simplon, Lake Maggiore, Isola Bella, Sesto, and Milan. While the plates are often variously dated 1820-1826, in this copy all but one of the plates are dated 1820; the other is undated. Lonchamp 1850; Tooley 446.
