Recchi Tarot, circa 1820, Oneglia, Giacomo Recchi, 78 of 78 cards, stencil colored copper engravings, yellow stamp in the center of each card displays the coat of arms of Savoy (valid 1815-1840). Major Arcana and courts are full-length figures, French card titles, Roman numerals, Spanish suits, two indices, square corners, ace of deniers reads, F.DI GIACOMO RECCHI D'ONEGLIA, desine e Grave par Arghinenti. Trumps follow the scheme of Piedmont tarot, but courts and pips have been redrawn with popular Spanish characters and scenes in neoclassical style inspired by Spanish card maker Clemente Roxas, Madrid. Back design is overall pattern of red and blue wavy lines. Size 4 3/8 in (11.1 cm) high, 2 9/16 in. (6.5 cm) wide. Slightly worn. Kaplan II, var. (2)
