Lot Essay

Susan Houghton was referred to by George Harrison's mother Louise as George's number one fan. At the age of fifteen, Susan and three girl friends regularly attended The Beatles concerts at The Cavern, the gang of four called themselves The Cement Mixers and frequently requested The Beatles to dedicate songs to them. Susan visited George's mother during his absence in Hamburg in December 1962 and struck up a friendship with her which lasted many years.
