Red morocco gilt by Thibaron-Joly, gilt lozenge on sides made up of small tools, spine compartments directly lettered and with repeated fleuron, gilt turn-ins and edges. Provenance: purchased from Ch. Bosse, 1924.
FIRST FRENCH EDITION, A FINE COPY, translated by Jean le Blond, preceding by a year the English translation by Ralph Robinson. Nine of the woodcut text illustrations were made especially for this edition including a small woodcut of the author repeated three times. RARE. Seven copies recorded on ABPC/AE on-line since 1925.
