Contemporary German red morocco richly gilt, central panel decorated with of a small tooled fan, sun-flower, tulip, bird and a vase tool, floral and circular tools filling the spaces, within an elaborate border of two fillets, one double fillets and 3 other ornamental rool tools, flatt spine in four compartments, gilt and gauffered and painted edges, fore-edge with a design of Adam and Eve, top and lower edge with a floral design, brass and morocco clasps (small repair to lower spine end, minor rubbing to fore-edges from clasps).
40 portraits of Biblical heroines enriched by 40 poems by Philipp von Zesen (1619-1689) and one poem by Harsförffer. As Felssecker states in his preface, the book which had been frequently published previously and was improved by Jacob Behme, and now by Felssecker with more poems at beginning and end.
