Details
VIRGINIA WOOLF (1882-1941); LAURENCE HOUSMAN (1965-1959)
Typed letter signed ("Virginia Woolf") to an unnamed lady, one page, 4°, 52 Tavistock Square, 3 July 1938.
"I am so glad that you like my book, Three Guineas, as you must have had more experience than I have had of the conditions that I deal with there.
I fear that I do not know of any movement to improve the position of women in the Church, though doubtless there must be one. I was much surprised to discover the facts of the case, which were new to me."

Typed letter signed ("Laurence Housman") to Miss Mitchell, one page, 4°, Longmeadow, Street, Somerset, 10 February 1937, in original stamped addressed envelope.
Commencing "Thank you for your letter, with its reminder of the Suffrage days, to which I never want to go back. It was an awful time," and referring to a lecture he once gave on "'Petticoat Government.'" (2)
