SIGNED DOBBELEAR, CIRCA 1811-14
Comprising steel breast- and back-plates each with applied brass facing, brass-domed lining-rivets and tinned internally, the breast-plate with brass studs for the shoulder-straps, stamped 'DOBBELAER' at the left shoulder and numbered '10905', '7.C.23' (crossed through) and '9C68', the initials 'AP' are stamped on the right flank, the back-plate is numbered '10905', struck with the initials 'AP', and also numbered '5.C.30', the shoulder-straps, repostioned during its working life, retain the buckles and brass mail (leather parts incomplete and dried, waist-belt incomplete), the back-plate has a more recent hook fitted to the left shoulder
